Little Pieces of her

Just a day of scrap happenings today, surfing the net and not much elseness. Thought i would share one of my creations...

Was playing with my moo cards (did you see they are doing stickers now too!!) the other day and my Elsie Stuff and made this. The scanner has spectacularly cut off one side of the Lo which is very annoying, it is well balanced in real life, i promise. The left hand side also has the circle rub-ons & doodles on the side of the photos. i love Barcelona, it is my favourite city so far (i have lot's to see yet).

Watched The Last King of Scotland last night. Amazing performances from Forest Whittaker and James McAvoy but there was one seriously disturbing image in the film which i swear is going to haunt me for the rest of my life.
i am not impressed about the postal strike at the moment as it means that i don't get any new dvd's to watch from my rental company and my Newton Faulkner album will probably be delayed! grr! His album is released today. Such a cool guy, me and Nic saw him supporting James Morrison a few months ago and i thought he was better than James was!
Took a trip to the bank today as i've been saving all my cash tips in little money bags and the lady tells me that she can only accept 5 bags a day, i had 11. Stupid rule if you ask me, i am not impressed. i have money but they won't let me put it in the bank! Makes sense!?!
Very happy about 4OD, cos i missed Studio 60 last week and 4OD means i can watch it any time i want. i've been waiting it for it to air over hear for ages and i managed to miss it! i also missed the start of Hero's, i am sooo annoyed as i've also been waiting for that for months! Does anyone know if it's repeated? i bet i've already missed the repeat!! Otherwise i'll have to wait for the DVD cos i can't start watching it without having seen the first 2.
Shimelle's new class starts today, i haven't decided which photo's to use, going to wait for all the prompts before i make a start i think.

Marwell Zoo

Yesterday was my day off (the one and only). i went to the zoo with the girls. And i was really excited about the roos and the kookaburra's and the wallaby's. Cos it's not long till i might get to see them in their natural habitat! And... Guess WHAT! The girls are going to meet me in Sydney for New Years! i am so Super Excited about it. They are all booked and everything. i can't believe they are actually coming. It's going to be the best!

i won't say too much about the book, as i know not everyone will have finshed it yet and i don't want to ruin it for anyone, but i did want to mention how much i loved that Ron used the actual work effing!! hee hee.

Went to see Simpsons Movie last night, wasn't that bothered about seeing it, but i was meeting up with Adam (not the same Adam of the Army Party but another Adam who is the only friend i have know for my entire life) and he wanted to see it, so we did, and it was funny.

And i want a Spiderpig.

There were some good ads for films coming up soon including The Dark is Rising which is based on a book which i now want to read and Stardust. i am so into magic right now. Since reading Harry Potter i want to be a witch! Actually i would rather be a wizard, because a witch doesn't sound very nice, only because of the stigma that they got in England all them hundereds of years ago when they used to witch hunt people. So i want to be a real wizard with actual magical powers. Don't you wish that you could do real magic?
Whenever i go to the cinema i always pick up a free postcard or four bec they are usually either funny or inspiring, i have a pretty random collection. i looked up the company who makes them and their site is here. They do free e-cards so go have a looksee, this one pretty much sums up how i feel sometimes.

Scrappin' it up!

Just wanted to share some stuff from this avo. So inspired by Miss Elsie at the mo. Her new stuff is scrummylicious!

Happy Harry Potter book 7 release day!

Can you tell i'm a little bit excited about the book release?

Today. A day off. A whole day just for me! i think i will scrap and watch movies all day. The girls are coming round later for dinner. Feels like i haven't seen them for ages. Cannot wait to hang out with them and discuss HP and travel plans and just generally laugh our socks off. And the sis is back this weekend too and Katty is here for her graduation! i struggle to fit everyone in these days, even those who live local. i wish you could know all the people i know, they are the best!

Crazy Wizard Music

Had to share this after listening to Colin Murray's show on Radio One the other day, which Featured Harry and th Potters. It is so funny, absoloute rubbish but still funny! Have a listen if you are a fan of the Potter books!

Harry and the Potters

Draco and the Malfoy's

Dobby and the House Elves

i have also discovered bands named The Hungrarian Horntails, The Credric Diggory's, Peeves and the Poltergeists, Ron and the Weasley's, Ginny and the Weasley's, The Whomping Willow, Huffle my Puff, Remus Lupins, Siriusly Black, The Hermione Crookshanks Experience, Wingardium Leviousa, Number 12 Grumauld Place and the list goes on and on. See Wizard Rock for more.

Who would imagine that there are people in the world who think to make this kind of 'music'!

i am living in a strange world at the moment where i dream of a book called Harry Potter and the Chilli Con Queso Burger and imagine in my sleep that there is a plate of Nacho's in my bed. i think i am spending far too much time in a certain mexican restaurant.

Army Party

Travelled up to Willsden Green for Adam's birthday on Saturday, he has recently moved in with Amy & Sarah along with Sarah's boyfriend and a few other random's, who i won't go into! So they had a Army themed party to celebrate. Crazy rub-on tatoos, combat make-up, camo birthday cake, fake guns and dog tags. The party started at 1 in the afternoon but i needed a power nap after working till one in the morning and then travelling up by train & tube so by the time i was up and about the party was in full swing. Lou came down from Colchester and so did Andrew! We all used to work together. So cool to be with everyone again. Really can not explain how much i loved hanging out with these people this weekend.

i have quite strong views about war, so wasn't too happy about the theme, but it was a requirement and it was surprisingly easy to find stuff to wear and everyone made a really good effort. i wore a headband, rambo stylee which ended up making me look like a bit of a hippy, which i was fine with as it enforced my beliefs in peace!

Finished Harry No 6 this morning! So hyped about the book release on Friday!

HP and the Order of the Phoenix

We went and we saw and i actually wasn't disappointed! Normally the films just agrivate me because of the huge chunks of storylines they cut out and that annoying girl who plays Hermione. So there were a few holes, but they did a fairly good job of this one and there was some good comedy. Really gutted that Gary Oldman won't be in any future films. Can't wait for the book, only a week to go!

Tomorrow i'm off to London for Adam's birthday/housewarming party. Super excited as i get to see loads of the old crowd from Essex. Made this for Adam as a prezzie, i'm poor and cannot affored real presents. He'll understand.

Mostly been working and watching films the last few days. i've seen:

Pan's Labryinth, i thought it would be a fantasy film, so was a bit disappointed to discover that most of the film was about war & revoloution, i'm still not altogeth sure what the message of the film was, but it's still worth a watch.

Bobby, i'm not a huge fan of ensemble pieces generally (except for Crash). The whole way through i was thinking 'where is this going?' then it all comes together with Bobby's assasination and it all suddenly makes sense. There are a lot of sub-plots to keep up with, but it is a pretty amazing film. Makes me wish we had a Robert Kennedy in the world today.

The Prestige, one of those films that shows you the end at the beginning and then there's a huge twist and you're like 'OMG!, when did that happen?' and you want to watch it all over again.

i have mostly been watching serious movies the last few weeks, so i think it's time to lighten up a bit!

i don't like posting without pictures, so here's a few of the hairband i made to go with my outfit for the wedding. Mum & Michaela both had posh feathery bit's in their hair and i felt left out so made this with a bit of ribbon, felt flower and a brad, too me about 10 seconds! Being crafty does come in handy occasionally!

The Wedding

Sam in her Wedding Car

The Bouquet

Two of the bridesmaid's, the page boy and Claire's daughter having fun at the reception Cos i know you want to see how long her train and meringue were...
Nan & Grandad, how cute are they?!
They turned up in Mini's, Italian Job style, had Jelly Bean's as favours, the most beautiful flowers & the nicest weather! Sam looked beautful and the happiest i have ever seen her. Marc looked dashing & seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself. Their Wedding rocked! Love it when my whole family are altogether, especially when we are celebrating!

07/07/07 Luckiest day in 100 years.....

i don't have much in the way of news, i've been working back at my old job in a temporary capacity this week, for a lot more money then i was on when i was there full time! Makes sense. It's been fine though, because i've just been helping out and don't have any of the reponsibility i haven't been getting stressed out. So this week's been all about work.

i managed to get this done on Tuesday though, it's a Scraplift of Rhonda Bonifay's from Scrapbooks etc. Love this magazine. Of all the things i have had to give up over the last few months in order to save money for the Big Trip, i haven't been able to give up my subscriptions to this mag or CK. The scanner is loving cutting off the sides of my LO's at the mo. This photo was taken last year, pretty old, i like having a huge stack of photos old and new, i don't find it daunting at all that i've got loads of photos un-scrapped, i just scrap what i feel like. Must make a note to self to print more black and white photos.

Ok, today is Marc & Sam's big Wedding Day, let's hope that they have nice weather for it! Apparently it's the luckiest day in 100 years!

Sunday Ramblings

Here's a few pages from the last week. Apologies for the photo of the 12x12 page but i have no idea how to scan and stitch parts together. The photo is er not very flattering of us shall i say, but i love it! Been playing around with my Elsie stuff from Modscraps kit. Man do i love Elsie's stuff right now, she is so super cool and inspiring!
i have such a laugh with these girls, we do stuff together, we get drunk, we bitch, we act silly (actually that's mostly me), and we've been through So much together. They are my girls and i am their's and i love them! Having done a season changed jobs lots and moved around a bit the last few years, i have so many friends accross the country who i love to bits and who i miss the company of, who i think of all the time and wish i could spend more time with. i know you probably think it's soppy of me to go on like this, but i've lived enough of life to know that it can be cut short at any time and i want you to know all this. i miss each and everyone of you so much right now!

Last week i was super excited to hear Sew My Name by Josh Pyke (my favourite of his songs) playing on the stereo when i was in Paperchase and on the same day my sister was watching Hollyoaks and Memories and Dust was played as the intro song! And when i was out on Tueday i saw posters advertising his album in the girls loo's of Walkabout! Josh Pyke is going to take over the world! Huurah!
