January Simple Scrapper Layouts

i'm happy to say that i'll be staying on with Simple Scrapper for another term and i'm excited for what is coming this year. We've had some new people join the team for 2016 and the website has been updated with our bios and gallery's. You can check it out here

This was the first layout i created with the 2016 materials. It's about not feeling like a grown up and debating whether i ever will.

i used the I AM collection from Simple Stories, which i absolutely adore. The colours are so pretty & i am all about the gold foil! Simple Stories is fast becoming one of my favourite manufacturers.

For my second layout, to keep things simple i used the same sketch as inspiration and the same set of products. But the layout turned out looking pretty different!

i'm in a phase of life right now where there are lot's of exciting things happening and i'm not sure where they are going to take me. i'm not much of a forward planner in my personal life (although planning is actually what i do for a living!), so i think i'll always be figuring things out as i go along. The journaling talks about how i'm taking small steps that will benefit my future, whilst trying to still live in the present.

i had lot's of fun with stamping on this page. i used an alphabet stamp from Kelly Purkey & Hero Arts. It comes with some fun graphic stamps which can be used over or under the letters to add some colour and interest. i also used some word and border stamps along the bottom to finish off the layout.

i used a Photo Flip from Simple Stories on this layout, to house the photo and create additional space for journaling. It was more a design choice than wanting to keep the journaling hidden. i love products which are versatile enough to be used on both pocket pages and layouts. To make the journaling accessible when it's in an album, i cut the page protector on the top side around where the photo flip is so that i can easily lift it.
