Because of... *effer dare 17*

Yay! The effer dares are back, and this pleases me so! i've missed those girls & they're crazy inspiring posts/creations. And this time April Foster of Studio Calico is playing along too, double yay! The prompt is 'because of...' This instantly made me think of everything my mum has done for me. When you 'grow up'  (put in brackets because i don't really consider myself a grown-up) i think you start to realise what a huge responsibility being a mum is. It goes well beyond, cooking, cleaning and entertaining, it's the most important job there is! My mum's influence has shaped me into the person i am today, which most definitely is a good thing, because she is rather wonderful.

As SC are sponsoring the dare i figured i'd used one of my kits. i'm nearly done with Back 40 so i got that out to play with. Just another page or two and i've officially 'killed' it, that'll be a first! This picture is of my mum and i, aged 11 months.

What i Wear (Dare 169)

i managed to sneak into my studio on a couple of occasions this week! And it feels good to be scrapping again. Those girls over at The Dares never fail to inspire me and the latest dare is to Scrap What You Wear. i used to be very much a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, now i usually wear a dress or skirt. You may have noticed from the photos that i post on here that i am also partial to the colours navy & grey, and cardigans.  i still have a huge collection of t-shirts but only one pair of jeans which i hardly ever wear (they just don't suit my body type). If i know i'm going to be in all day without any visitors then it's likely i'll wear leggings or tracksuit bottoms all day or even just my pj's, but that's top secret!

i signed up for Vee's Style Files class in August but haven't got around to making my own files yet. i've taken a few pictures here and there of outfits and accessories but not enough to complete a mini book. But i really wanted to play along with this dare so i decided just to list the key elements that make up my style and use a current photo.

i still can't get my scanner working so sorry about the wonky picture. Most of the stuff i used on this page is from the Granny's Cupboard kit + add-ons. But i also used some SC stickers on there and mists in latte & sunflower. This is the first page i've done in a while that really feels like my style. Yay!

Currently

i'm sure you're aware of Tina & her wonderful blog but if you're not do hop over and have a look. i'm a long time fan. Recently she started featuring her 'currents' and it's this week's dare. The currents are: listening, eating, drinking, wearing, feeling, weather, wanting, needing, thinking, enjoying, wondering.  Here's my take on it.

i think this is evidence that i am in desperate need of a new stayz on black ink pad. i hate spending on basic supplies! i didn't make much effort with my handwriting on this either.

p.s. i did manage to get most of last weeks goals accomplished! & it was a very fun bank holiday weekend.

p.p.s i'm currently impatiently waiting for the release of Brandon Flowers' new album. i've got a major crush on him & his music at the moment.

p.p.p.s i think i've got the most fun weekend of all time planned this weekend! Will be back with details next week & a few home decor projects i've done over the last week or so.
