i've been wanting to go to the Notting Hill Carnival for the last couple of years and so far hadn't made it, so i went today. Here is one of my favourite costumes, i took about 200 pictures! Unfortunatly most weren't that good because of the lighting and people getting in the way but i've still got quite a lot of nice ones. Now i've got the almighty task of deciding which ones to print off and scrap! i couldn't believe how many police were there, it was unbelievable, there were even helicopters circling round! If you've never had the chance to make it ot the carnival then i urge you to do it, it's really fun, everyone is happy and dancing and the costumes are fabulous.

Tea 4 2
Oh yes my tum is full with cakey-o and scones, i barely touched the sandwiches. I know it's oh so typically english, but it was oh-so yummy so i won't apologise. And all for a mere £5.95 each. If you're ever in Portsmouth, check out the 10th hole, they do baguettes and meals and stuff too, all reasonably priced, but the cakes are the best. They display them in a cabinet and they are all homemade. Every time i go in they have different ones, you will want to try them all. I warn you though, you will feel as big as a house, much like i do now...
i am currently mourning the loss of Big Brother, i think i will miss Richard the most, he was so witty, i hope he is still on telly. i now have the X-Factor to become obsessed with, i have picked my winner already.

Ahoy Sailors!
So work sent me away on a RYA Start Yachting course and i can honestly say it was one of the worst weekends of my life (and i've had quite a few of those this year). There were force 7 winds (force 8 is a gale) and rain. i think i've got too used to sailing in the med, i'd forgotten what the solent was like. i was seasick (i didn't actually hurl, but i felt like i was going to and frankly i think i would have felt better if i had done), i was freezing (a t-shirt, two jumpers, a fleece and wet-weather gear didn't help either), i was constantly reminded of a part of my life which is sore to think about (which made me grumpy), i was really tired (which added to my grumpyness) and the people around me were having a great time, which meant i couldn't complain! i've been desperate to come home, have a bath and snuggle in bed all weekend. i've never felt so exhausted, battered, bruised, achey and tired. The worst thing about it is i was really looking forward to this weekend, i usually love sailing! And while i'm in this whiny mood, i'd like to say i'm fed up with war and terrorism. Why can't we all just be friends?

I went to get my SLR today, but they only had the one which is on the shelf and has been manhandled, so i've got to wait 2 weeks for one to come in. boo-hoo.

Have been dabbling with my inks, stamps, gesso and gel medium. Here is one of my favourite creations. Not sure what to do with them now though. I feel as though i should make them into cards, but i'm not sure i could bare to part with them. Have also done another two scrapbook pages today! I'm on a roll. Last night i watched House of Flying Daggers. It is one amazing film, i don't normally like watching fighting scenes, but these were fabbo. Highly recommend it, even if it is not your usual thing, you should see it.

Challenge!
Well i've been a very busy girl recently (hence the lack of posts) and have no time for anything crafty. But after i saw Annie's post below about Ali E's challenge's i had to have a go. So here is the result. i cheated a bit by choosing which papers to use rather than grabbing random ones, but hey rules are made to be broken. I was really struggling with what to do with the squares once i had mounted them, so i picked up the latest CK for inspiration and went no further than the front cover. i rarely scraplift, but Denise Pauley's fab LO (school days) seemed to fit, so all design credit goes to her. Thanks Annie for inviting me to take up your challenge. The LO is balanced better in reality, but the scanner decided to lop some of the right hand side off. i was originally going to use Heidi Swapp rub-on's for the title but they turned out disasterous, so i opted for Basic Grey stickers. Paper is from Create Paper. I hadn't realised how small my square punch, will definnatly have to invest in a new one!I spent last weekend in Bournemouth visiting my sister and went to the original Lush store in Poole! It was tiny! I love the southcoast, I'm never moving away again. Also spent a bit of money in the sales, but my excuse (& it's a valid one, honest) is that i need new clothes, because i've gone down a size. We've been planning our trip to Barcelona, which i'm getting really excited about. If you've got any hints about where to go/what to do, please post.
Have been here there and every where hanging out with friends and family and am fully booked for the next week or so. I'm going to a Venture party on Tuesday which should be fun, I love their stuff, shame they are so expensive. And talking of photography, i have been SLR shopping today, and have definatly decided on the Canon EOS 350D, so will be getting that in the next week or so, can't wait!
