May Simple Scrapper Layouts

The theme for May at Simple Scrapper is the 1980's. One of the prompts is to write about your childhood in the 80's. Whilst i did grow up in the 80's, my layout doesn't specifically relate to the 80's (because that's the good thing about prompts, they're just jumping off points & there are no rules). For much of my early life it felt like we lived out of a suitcase. Of course, this probably isn't entirely accurate but i think over time we tend to remember the big things and we did travel a lot. With the technology back then not being so advanced (like not being able to see your photos until they were printed!) and also less affordable than it is today, the majority of my childhood pics seem to be from big events or on our travels. Opposed to the 'everyday' shots that parents are more likely to take in 2016.

Next up is a layout using a sketch from the new collection. To break up the busyness of the background paper, i used solid colours to matt the photos and journaling. Still can't get enough of gold.
