Silly Birthday Wishes!

It's my birthday tomorrow! Thought i would share with you a couple of silly birthday wishes...

Source
Actually this wish isn't silly at all, i want a pug puppy SO bad! But it's just not the right time in my life. One day i will get my wish and dress said pug in pink tutu's, grey hoodies and funny halloween costumes! hehe.

Mmmm Cadbury's Caramel Nibbles, SO yummmmy!

Yes please! Isn't he lovely? *sigh*

Mini Henry Hoover. Everytime i see these it makes me chuckle!

Blue Sky, so i can take pretty pictures! So sick of the grey weather we're having later, maybe the sunshine will come out just for me on my special day?

Oh and hot hocolate and cupcakes would be nice too... :) Looking forward to the celebrations, feeling very thankful for having such wonderful friends and family to share it with.

Miss & more

Hello Loves,

i wanted to introduce you to my lovely friend Miss. She has just started a blog so please stop by and say hi, there are lots of pretty things to see. i cannot tell you how excited i am that my friends in the real world are now part of the blogosphere!

Anyways, recently she posted about mix tapes so i thought i'd share some of my favourite tunes at the moment.

(Created using the card generator)

So far this week has been fuuuun! i had to do site audits at work on Monday with Curly Wurly Nose and we had lots of gossip to catch up on, it was refreshing to get out of the office. Last night we went to a Pub Quiz which consisted of a music round which was played on the kazoo, a picture round where the celebrities were hand drawn by the quiz master & a true or false round based on the quiz master's opinion on certain things, plus a couple of other equally random rounds. It was silly but we laughed a lot & managed to come second (technically). i think it will become a permenant fixture on our social calendar.

True Blood is on tonight. i am in half a mind to give up on this series, because i love the books SO much & i don't like what they are doing with some of the characters or some of the crazy story lines that don't exist in the books. i am hoping that i will like the series more when Eric & Pam feature more though so i am sticking with it for now. And wishing they would hurry up and release book 9 on paperback, gah!

Favourite Things

Hello Sweet Peas!

i hope you have had a fun weekend. i have been a total hermit & have not even left the house! But it has given me the chance to catch up with a few projects.

As promised i am back with scrappy goodness. I bought this Favourite Things Kit from Redvelvetart.com many many months ago & have only just got round to finishing it. i had much fun with this & still have enough left over to create another book further down the line. i tried to use less convnetional products for this album & used chipboard & cereal packaging as the base.

Here's a few peeks, but you can see the whole album here.

Hot Chocolate

Did you know it was Hot Chocolate week this week? No, me either. Well it is. i become fairly addicted to Hot Choclate during the winter months, and i'm pretty fussy about it. My favourite is from Costa's. But i don't go there often so i tend to make it myself. i won't let anyone else make it for me, because i am so particular about it. lately i've even been adding mini marshmellows and choclate sprinkles. Aero gives the best froth but Galaxy is the yummyest.

This week has been fairly low key but i have been busy crafting all day so i'll be back with some scrappies soon, providing we get some light tomorrow. Today was sooo grey!

Gemma Correll

If you know me you know that i am obsessed with pugs, and dream of one day owning my own. This is how i came to discover Gemma Correll, because she rocks the pug drawings better then any other.

She is one of my favourite illustrators and i am particularly in love with the 'what i wore today' & 'what i wish i'd worn today' series'.

And i find her cartoons about her day sooo funny. This one i can relate to, i am always spotting pugs and stalking them...

You can find Gemma's Shop here and her Flickr here.

The last five days or so have been filled with The Graduation, a scrappy afternoon, an Arrested Development marathon, eats at the diner, a lazy Sunday, Knitting Club, An Education, season finale of Prison Break, happy post from The Dozens & wolly hats.

And here's a quickie using Cosmo Cricket yummy.

i am much liking making quick simple pages of late. But i plan on making a mini about V Festival once i've had all my photos printed from my disposables.

A few words about Caketin

Caketin is one of my favouritest people evvvver. Not only is she teaching me to crochet, but she is the meanest knitter in town. Looksie what she made me, only the cutest headband of all time.

Here's a page i made a while ago to show my love.

Anywho, she has a new blog-o, which i am most excited about! Please do check it out here.

Childhood Memories

It's Sesame Street's 40th Birthday this year! INSANE! i'm not sure that it was or is that big a deal here in the UK but i lived in Canada for a couple of years as a child & i loved it. i even remember a Bert & Ernie birthday cake one year but i'm not sure if that was for me or my sister. There are so many amazing characters in the show, i think i could still watch the show now and be entertained. i love that they haven't changed the puppetry.

And check Feist out on the street!

Anyway all this talk of kids programmes does leads me to a scrapbook page i did a while ago about about the things my sisiter & i loved as a kid, toys, programmes etc. It was a theme i had journalled about so all i needed to do was couple it with a photo & add paper + glue. Note the minature camera around my neck, some things never change! i feel so lucky to have had someone to grow up with & it could not have been with a more perfect person! We are going to my sisters graduation tomorrow, she also moved this week & just started a new job. Fun times for her. It seems crazy to me that we are (kind of) grown up now, but i look forward to whatever else life has in store for us.

Shake it!

Let's talk polaroids, cause i know some of you are a little obsessed with them right now. So glad you've got on board with me!

So we were all a little sad when Polaroid stopped making the instant film last year, meaning prices sky rocketted. But luckily The Impossible Project is going to change that in 2010, plus Polaroid is bringing back The One Step Camera and are comissioning TIP to produce polaroid branded instant film!! Yay! Urban Outfitters are already selling some instant photo products and you can get lots of stuff at Polapremium (but it's very pricey) they even have a Tazmanian Devil polaroid camera!

(Image from Polarpremium)

You can read more about the fight to save polaroid here or at The Impossible Project.

However, in the meantime there are a couple of programmes you can use to create the polaroid effect with your digital photos. Rollip is very popular and Poladroid is super cute because you can just drag and drop, and it even makes the same sound as a polaroid camera!

Something i invested in a few months back is the Polaroid Pogo Printer. You can send pictures to it via your camera or phone, even by blue tooth! The pictures are 2x3 are the colours are muted like they are in polaroids. Look out for some pictures on a scrapbook page or two in the near future!

And i'm wishing wishing wishing someone's going to bring me back one of these baby's back from Taiwan. i want one so baaaad!

Here's a few book's i wouldn't mind finding in my christmas stocking!

And a couple of links for inspiration:

Oh and there's an exhibition on in L-town about the history of Polaroid. i'm thinking birthday trip, who wants to come?!

And p.s. it's Polaroid week!
